The Duchess of York and film star Michael Caine joined Oscar winner Kevin Costner and other celebrities for dinner at the China Club in Central last night.
They fly to Beijing with other stars today to attend the opening of the club's mainland branch.
Costner, who arrived at Macau in his private jet two days ago, spent most of his day at the Sai Kung home of China Club owner, David Tang Wing-cheung.
He also visited Government House where he met Governor Chris Patten's daughters, Laura and Alice.
'I've never been to Beijing before,' said Costner, famous for his roles in Waterworld and Dances with Wolves, as he left a gaggle of shop girls to wrap his purchases after a trawl through Mr Tang's Central shop, Shanghai Tang.
For Caine, too, it will be a first trip to the Chinese capital. 'I'll try anything once,' said the star of such films as Zulu and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
