Property tycoon Li Ka-shing headed the top 10 list of popular Preparatory Committee members twice in two recent surveys.

  The surveys, conducted by the University of Hong Kong's Social Sciences Centre in May and July, found Mr Li has received most support from the public.

  His support rate jumped from 51.8 per cent in March to 61 per cent in May, and slipped only slightly to 58.1 per cent in July.

  The top position was previously held by chairman of the Association for Democracy and People's Livelihood, Frederick Fung Kin-kee, who has lost support and is now not even in the top 10.
