Concord Technology, a manufacturer of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), was one of three winners of the 1996 Chinese Manufacturers' Association Machinery and Equipment Design Award. Concord won its award for the Super Test T323 In-Circuit Tester, an electronic testing machine for checking components such as resistors, capacitors and inductors. The T323 features 'ultra high-speed performance, incorporating a high-speed C-MOS scanning switch', Concord said. Accuracy is ensured by its 16-bit digital-to-analog converter with 64 K step resolution, giving fine measurement capacity. Potential drops in measurement are eliminated by the internal six-point measurement scanner which gives high-precision component testing. The eight-point measurement scanner in the T323 can use the Kelvin method to measure very small value resistors, capacitors and inductors. Measurement reliability is also achieved through the digital filtering system, which gives an excellent signal-to-noise ratio for more stable measurement. Operators need only a minimum of training to be able to use the T323. Programming is also easily achieved, with overall editing of tolerance, guarding, skip or waiting time possible in one stage. The wide testing possible with the T323 includes auto guarding, capacitor polarity, IC Missing and Orientation, IC Protective Diode auto learning and test, location map for failed parts and loop test. A daily or weekly readout of pass and fail statistics can be printed out. Superior testing functions of the T323 include Super Debug Mode (with fully programmable driving current), measuring time, discharge time, delay time and testing frequency. The T323 has a wave form analyser built into it, enabling the user to examine the actual testing environment for more accurate measurement. A diode test is included which can categorise different diode families into power, signal and Zener diodes. Options on the T323 include a dual press fixture system to cut the handling time of PCB loading and unloading, a high-speed Reed Relay scanner for handling loaded PCBs with large capacity and an In-Line system, a special fixture which can be added to achieve fully automatic UUT handling systems. The earlier generation of the Super Test, the 100 model, won the 1992 design category in the Governor's Award for Industry. The 100 model was successfully installed in major Hong Kong-owned electronics factories.
