Karrie Industrial Holdings has marked itself as a high-quality manufacturer by being one of the elite group of companies to win the 1996 Hong Kong Productivity Council Productivity Award.
The engineering group employs about 4,000. Its main product is computer casings, accounting for about 68 per cent of production for fiscal 1996.
Video cassettes account for 21 per cent of production, office automation products six per cent, Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) plastic and metal components four per cent and switching power supply products one per cent.
Most of Karrie's OEM products are destined for Europe, followed by Asia-Pacific, and North and South America.
Karrie has nine factories in Dongguan.
Karrie's tooling and sheet metal division has the capacity to make 190,000 sets of computer casings per month through subsidiaries Castfast Magnetic Moulding and HK Hung Metal Manufacturing.
