Inner Circle went off at 80-1 in the first event last night but those odds won't be available when he next steps out. Last season's griffin only had one run when beating only three home in a 14-runner field but trainer Ivan Allan was understandably patient and that will ultimately prove beneficial. Inner Circle may have come on even better than connections expected because he came home very sweetly along the rails in this Class Four longer sprint to take fifth place behind Chiu Chow Boy. He was four lengths behind stablemate and favourite Quick Money so the stable will have a very ready guide as to just how good he could be. Certainly on the evidence of just two runs, Inner Circle should progress to win a race or two. In the same race Treasure Sprint went off at 200-1 but finished seventh under a claimer and that was a distinct improvement on anything that has gone before. Last placings have been featuring on his form sheet but it could pay to keep a watching brief on this Irish-bred colt.
