SCMP Reporter

The airport at Chek Lap Kok is the largest single construction project ever undertaken. Work is moving ahead rapidly on the first runway and other facilities. On opening in April 1998, the airport will have a capacity of up to 35 million passengers a year. The second runway will open in October 1998.
