Southeast Asian countries are to be urged to block Japan's bid to become a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. The 123 Democratic Alliance is to write to consulates to lobby against Japan's bid. The group is also launching a campaign to ask people to boycott certain Japanese products every week. Members of the alliance will meet Taiwan's Foreign Minister John Chang Hsiao-yen next Tuesday to urge Taipei to raise the dispute with Japan officially.
