I refer to the complaint from your reader concerning repairs to the boilers at Morrison Hill Swimming Pool (South China Morning Post, September 18).
Hot water is supplied by two boilers at each changing room and their maintenance has always been regarded as one of the most essential items during the pool closure period. According to records, they had been functioning properly since the pool was reopened to the public on July 1. On August 22, the boiler at the male changing room was not in operation. However, a supply of hot water was available from the remaining boiler.
It was unfortunate that when the repair of the defective boiler was in progress, the remaining one was also out of order on September 15. However, repairs on the two defective boilers were completed on September 18.
I apologise for the inconvenience caused to swimmers. Should your reader require any further information or have further views on the facilities at Morrison Hill Swimming Pool, he is welcome to contact Yuen Hing-keung, District Amenities Officer (Wan Chai) at 2879 5613.
