Discharge for solicitor

A solicitor was given a conditional discharge for a year for an act of gross indecency in a public toilet. Eastern Court heard that Cham Shu-kay, 28, and quality control officer, Lai Wing-fu, 35, had been touching each other in Wan Chai in August. Lai pleaded guilty and was fined $1,000. Magistrate Peter Line said Cham's behaviour was a 'real embarrassment' but he accepted Cham was a 'useful member of the profession and society'.
