KOWLOON Cricket Club (KCC) A lost ground in their Hongkong First Division championship title race when they went down to improving Pakistan Association A 4-2 at King's Park. Leaders Shaheen were the biggest winners of the day, trouncing Pasbaan 10-1 to go three points clear at the top of the 12-team standings and remain unbeaten. They also have a game in hand and should consolidate their lead next week when they take on KNS -who earned a point in a 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers Khalsa A 1-1. KCC, overnight joint leaders with Shaheen, led through Jaime Collaco after 10 minutes. Akil Mohammed equalised but then KCC looked to have the match for the taking when Duncan McCosh's penalty corner conversion made it 2-1. But Pakistan Association fought back with goals from Farooq Saeed, Ashsaq Ullah and Khalid Mehmood to settle the issue. Champions Hongkong Football Club A moved into third place in the standings, one point adrift of KCC with a 2-0 victory over old rivals Nav Bharat A at Happy Valley. Club were also victorious when their B team continued their move up the standings with a hard-fought 1-0 win over British Forces, equal sixth on 20 points. Dutch A gave Rhino A further relegation worries with a 2-0 victory at King's Park. Rhino are at the foot of the standings on just three points from 14 outings.
