Hong Kong capital markets

Hong Kong capital markets saw a weak third quarter, according to the latest league tables put out by the Basis Point newsletter. Few significant issues were put out in the Hong Kong dollar market with the aggregate amount at the end of the quarter climbing to $44.5 billion from $33.3 billion at the end of the second quarter.

HSBC Markets and Standard Chartered Bank led the way, due mainly to their own large issues, with Schroders Asia and Societe Generale Asia following close behind.

HSBC Markets retains its dominant position in the period, acting as book-runner on 41.33 issues worth $12.6 billion. Standard Chartered Bank trailed far behind with 11 issues worth $5.83 billion.
