Unitech to build office complex

Unitech, a prominent property development company based in New Delhi, has joined hands with a Singapore-based consortium to construct and develop a corporate office complex in Gurgaon, Haryana, about 35 kilometres from New Delhi.

Both Unitech and the Singapore consortium - which is led by First Capital Corporation, and includes Thakral Investment Holdings, Khattar Holdings and Parmeshwara Holdings - will initially invest 100 million rupees (about HK$20.5 million) each in the 50-50 joint venture.

Subsequently, they would put in an additional 25 million rupees each. More investment will come in when prospective customers pay up their booking amounts.

'The Singapore firms will be involved in project planning, design management and construction, sales and marketing,' Unitech director G. R. Bahri said.

The commercial complex would be put up adjoining National Highway 8, as a part of Unitech's South City complex. The architecture would also be conceived in Singapore, Mr Bahri said.

'This is one of our most prestigious projects, and we are looking forward to top-class technical assistance from our partners in Singapore,' he said.

The salient features of the project include imported technology, high-speed lifts, false flooring, central air-conditioning, security systems, a public address system, power back-up and extensive landscaping.

The 15-storey building will have twin towers, with the top three floors being connected. A total of 375,000 sq ft of office space will be available upon completion.
