David Mackenzie said there was no link between his decision to leave the company and its decision to more than halve its staff from a peak of 12.
Mr Mackenzie said he was considering a number of offers.
'I don't know where I'm going, but I decided to move because it was time for a change,' he said.
Mr Mackenzie said he would look for a job with a more regional focus.
