Waiter hit girlfriend with brick

A man hit his 16-year-old girlfriend repeatedly on the head with a brick during an argument over their relationship, Eastern Court heard yesterday.

Wu Yee-lin, 20, pleaded guilty to causing bodily harm to the girl.

The court heard that Wu, a waiter, had argued with the girl about their relationship in a street in Wan Chai on the night of June 22.

He had pulled the girl's hair, pushed her against a hoarding and hit her repeatedly on the head with a brick he picked up in the street, the court was told.

A passer-by overpowered Wu and reported the case to police.

The girl, a school student, received stitches to her head after the assault.
