With a three-over-par 75 on the Diamond-Ruby layout at Discovery Bay Golf Club, the territory's leading female player is just one shot off the pace being set by Taiwan's Lin Yu-ping.
Sharing second spot with Yu is international teammate Tomoe Masaki and South African Barbara Plant with Indian scratch-handicapper Vandana Agarwal a stroke back in fifth.
Yu and Masaki both recovered from dropping a shot at the opening hole to reach the turn in one-over 37.
