Wah Yan colleges in Hong Kong and Kowloon gained promotion to Division One, after finishing first and second in the Inter-school Football League Competition, Division Two. Wah Yan College, Hong Kong (WYHK) won the overall championship, with 42 points, taking the Grade A league title, first runners-up spot in C and second runners-up place in B. With a second in grades A and B, Wah Yan College, Kowloon (WYK) were overall second, with 34 points. Lung Cheung Government Secondary School was third with 31 points. 'The boys are delighted to get back to Division One and are prepared to face tougher opposition,' said coach Ip Fook-wah of WYHK. In Grade A, the colleges both completed the round-robin stage with five wins, one draw and one loss. Despite their 4-1 defeat by WYK, WYHK got the winning edge by virtue of better goal-difference, as they trounced South Island 5-1, St Peter's Anglo-Chinese Secondary School 5-0 and beat Tang King Po School 2-0. In Grade B, WYHK finished third, edging past St Paul's College with better goal-difference. The Grade B league title went to Chan Sui Ki College. They overcame the challenge from the two Wah Yan Colleges, beating the Hong Kong side 1-0 and the Kowloon team 2-1. In Grade C, WYHK were unbeaten, with three wins and four draws. They finished one point behind champions Lung Cheung Government Secondary Technical School.
