Reporter charged

A journalist is accused of assaulting a taxi driver in the early hours of New Year's Day. Kevin Platt, 30, allegedly refused to pay the taxi fare as he thought he had been overcharged. Platt, a reporter at the Christian Science Monitor, was also accused of obstructing a sergeant at Central police station. He denied the charges.
