Party meeting set
A DATE has finally been fixed for the first meeting of the preparatory committee to form a political party of Co-operative Resources Centre members and other conservative figures.
CRC convenor Mr Allen Lee Peng-fei said yesterday the 40-member committee would meet on February 28.
The formation of the party has been hit with set-backs, including the departure of manifesto writer Professor Felice Lieh-mak and the collapse of the merger plan with the Liberal Democratic Federation.
Mr Lee said the agenda of the meeting included the election of leaders and the formation of working groups on finance, party structure, policy, membership and public relations.
Mr Lee refused to reconfirm yesterday whether 14 of the 17 CRC members would join the preparatory committee.
Mr Gilbert Leung Kam-ho, Mr Howard Young and Mrs Peggy Lam Pei Yu-dja have said they would not sit on the committee.
