Fund-raising walk gives students new view of Tuen Mun Students and teachers at Tuen Mun Catholic Secondary School took part in a sponsored walk to help improve their environment. The walk, which raised about $20,000, was part of the school's 10th anniversary programmes. The activity was aimed at raising money to install new air-conditioning in the school hall, so students would not have to suffer during assemblies on hot days. Lau Chan Wai-ha, District Education Officer for Tuen Mun, officially started the effort by cutting a ribbon. Seventh-formers led the way round the four-kilometre course, followed by schoolmates and teachers. The weather was sunny, and a cool breeze helped the students and staff complete the journey, safely and comfortably. Students said they enjoyed walking parts of the Tuen Mun and MacLehose trails, as they saw beautiful views of the town they usually did not have a chance to see. They added that the walk was good training for their perseverance and willpower. Students, teachers and principal were enthusiastic about the walk. They said it brought them closer together. More activities are lined up to celebrate the anniversary.
