Golden right-winger Loh Wai-chi escaped heavy punishment from the Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA) last night after he was accused of threatening referee Ng Yim-kin.

Ng accused Loh of making threats after Golden's 4-3 defeat by South China on January 16 at the Hong Kong Stadium.
Loh was found guilty by the HKFA disciplinary committee and was put on probation for three matches.
Golden spokesman Kong Kwok-wing conceded that the committee had been lenient.
'Since they found Loh guilty, and his disciplinary record is bad, we expected a heavier punishment,' said Kong.

Loh was suspended for three games in March 1995 for pushing the same referee during a Senior Shield semi-final when Loh played for South China.
