The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust has donated over $3 million to help set up the RTHK Sound Archive Library.
A collection of 5,000 recorded programmes produced by the RTHK over the past six decades will be available for the public to borrow.
The public will have to go to the audio-visual rooms of City Hall and Sha Tin Town Hall libraries to listen to the dubbed tapes.
Two thousand tapes will be put in the Regional Council Central Library and the rest go to the Urban Council one.
The two libraries will rotate their collection about a year later.
The programme materials include music, radio drama, cultural and education, news and public affairs, interviews, features and variety shows.
The works of many famous Chinese and overseas writers will also be available.
