Companion Marble (Holdings) will invest $60 million to double production capacity at its marble and granite processing factory in Dongguan.
Chairman Arthur Leung Kwok-kui said the expansion, to be financed from internal resources, would be finished in April.
The expanded factory would be able to produce 5.38 million square feet of processed marble and granite a year, he said.
The company would build a factory in Shandong next year when the Dongguan factory was operating smoothly.
Companion Building Material (Holdings), the parent company of Companion Marble, said its newly acquired ceramic tile factory, Super Trend, had $20 million in outstanding contracts on hand.
After the extraordinary general meeting which approved the acquisition of Super Trend from New World Development, Companion Building chairman Doreen Leung Siu York-chee said the purchase would strengthen the group.
