Yip arms trial starts

The trial of Yip Kai-foon, who faces firearms and explosives charges, is expected to start at the High Court today.

Wheelchair-bound Yip, 35, made several brief appearances in court yesterday for preliminary discussions.

Yip has pleaded not guilty to possessing 1.887 kilograms of the explosive TNT with intent to endanger life or cause serious injury to property.

The defendant also denies possessing a machine pistol and ammunition and using a firearm with intent to resist arrest.
