It is aimed at encouraging students who have worked hard, and rewarding those who have achieved excellent results in final year projects.

Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at HKU, Professor Chan Chingchuen, said: 'It not only provides monetary support for the students, it also makes them aware that they have the support of the community.' Only HKU and Hong Kong Polytechnic University offer similar courses, but the demand for electrical and electronic engineering professionals is great in Hong Kong.
