I am very annoyed with the sneaky manner in which the Yaumati Ferry Company handled their special midnight ferry service on Lunar New Year's Eve. All other public transport operators widely publicised their overnight service or extended services to promote their image as well as attract additional custom . But the company merely posted inconspicuous notices at the pier. I missed their well-camouflaged paper. And I believe many others living on the outlying islands also missed this useful information and were forced to stay out all night, even though there were ferries going to the islands an hour after the usual last sailing. Perhaps there is a good reason for this. If the special services were poorly used, the ferry company would have every excuse to decline to provide similar services in the future. ALAN FONG Cheung Chau
