Teenager had sex with sister

A teenager had sex with his younger sister, who later gave birth to a baby boy, the District Court heard yesterday.

The two teenagers made love because they were curious about sex, defence lawyer Sterling Tsu told the court.

'It's a terrible tragedy and unfortunate thing to happen,' Mr Tsu said.

The defendant, now 17, yesterday admitted before Judge Richard Hawkes two charges of incest.

Mr Tsu said the victim and her brother were still on good terms. She even wrote a letter to urge the judge to impose a lenient sentence, he said.

Prosecutor Peter Sit said the offences came to light after the girl, 13, complained of abdominal pain last October. She was sent to hospital where she gave birth to a boy, who died soon afterwards.
