Business leaders in Hong Kong say the death of China's paramount leader Deng Xiaoping will not have much impact on their businesses in China.

New World Group said its infrastructure and property projects would not be affected.

It said it would continue with its development plans in China and strive to obtain good economic benefits from the projects.

'We believe there will not be changes in foreign investments, foreign investment policies and environment in China,' it said.

New World said it did not expect reforms laid down by Deng to change.

A spokesman for Road King Infrastructure said the company was doing business in China, but did not expect Deng's passing to affect their business.
