TNT Express Worldwide has launched a service on the Internet that will enable customers to keep tabs on their packages' whereabouts.
TNT Express Worldwide (HK) country manager for Hong Kong, Bryan Chan, said the Web tracker service offered customers international real-time information and the ability to track up to 10 consignments using just the consignment number.
He said the system was pro-active and would enable the company to do more to reduce customer losses. A team would perform sporadic checks on package movements and would act immediately to resolve problems, he said.
For example, if a package was stuck at an airport and the contents were time-sensitive, TNT would be in a position to put an employee on the plane and have the package flown to its customer.
The tracking service taps into Global Link, the company's information technology system which links every TNT depot and hub.
The TNT Web page also provides details on the company, its services and products and details of countries and destinations served.
