Four-year-old Kitty Luk Cheuk-man was one of the first in the queue to snap up souvenir Year of the Ox stamps in Central yesterday.
The stamps triggered large queues at about 100 post offices across the territory.
More than 1,000 stamp lovers, many camping overnight, were waiting at the post office in Central when it opened. Large crowds waited outside post offices in Tsim Sha Tsui, Tsuen Wan, Mongkok and Sha Tin.
On sale were souvenir sheets of four stamps in denominations of $1.30, $2.50, $3.10 and $5, sheets of 50 stamps for each of the four denominations and a booklet of six $1.30 stamps and six $3.10 stamps. ALEX LO
