He may not be a street-sleeper but he sometimes finds himself in a similar predicament, when he finishes school too late to catch a bus home.

At times such as this he dreams of bunking down in a hostel on campus in Hunghom.

The second-year student is also the sports secretary for the university students' union and has many meetings after his lessons.

'Sometimes our meetings end at 2 am. There are no trains or buses to travel back home to Kwun Tong so the student union office is my temporary shelter,' Mr Leung, 21, said.

'I bring a sleeping bag just in case I have to sleep in the office.

On such occasions, he is not the only stranded student. Up to five other students also bring sleeping bags and share the office floor.
