Censors keep movie fans posted on latest sexy films
Censors have rejected complaints about a five-storey poster of an actor hanging as if crucified between a woman's legs, which is achieving worldwide notoriety.
The billboard at the corner of Nathan and Waterloo roads in Yau Ma Tei was described as indecent and offensive to Christians.
But the Television and Entertainment Licensing Authority approved the poster of The People Vs Larry Flynt , which caused an outrage in France. The authority received nine complaints over the advertisement publicising the film about a pornographer.
A billboard advertising a Category III film about the experiences of a 16-year-old girl, The Fruit is Ripening, prompted one complaint.
A spokesman said the authority could not take action after approving publicity material for Category III films.
'We did a survey last year which told us that standards we are exercising are complying with the general view of the public,' he said.
