CHIEF Executive-designate Tung Chee-hwa's Cabinet held its first informal meeting yesterday and focused on housing.
Secretary for Housing Dominic Wong Sing-wah and Secretary for Environment, Planning and Lands Bowen Leung Po-wing attended the three-hour meeting in Mr Tung's office at the Asia-Pacific Finance Tower in Central.
Mr Tung's spokesman said there would be more informal meetings because the post-handover leader had a number of issues to deal with.
Mr Wong declined to reveal details of the discussions, saying only that he had briefed Mr Tung and the Cabinet on housing policies.
'We discussed the Government's existing housing policies and developments, and I also explained the Long Term Housing Strategy consultation paper which was published last month.
'We have fixed a time for another meeting, but I would be happy to explain to the Executive Council about meetings in future if it is necessary,' he said.
