That favourite comic book character, Tin Tin, will come to life when about 100 Island School students, aged 11 to 18, perform their hilarious adaptation of Herge's stories. The audience will see projected comic-strip frames come to life, as actors step out of the pages. The story being performed will be about Tin Tin the detective in Who has stolen the Castafiore Emerald. All the great Herge characters appear: Captain Haddock, Signora Bianca Castafiore (the Milanese Nightingale), Snowy, the infamous Thompson Twins and Professor Cuthbert Calculus. The production incorporates over 20 pieces of original music, composed especially for the show. A team of puppeteers take on the parts of Snowy, Iago the parrot and several other animals who figure through the story. The show will appeal to children of all ages. Herge's sense of humour is faithfully recreated, and the story is entertaining for both children and adults. The performances will be from Wednesday to Saturday at 7 pm in the Island School Hall. Tickets are available at the school and can be reserved by calling 2534 7135.
