Oscar winners Sean Connery and Michael Douglas are in talks to star in a thriller written by a student in a bid to pay off his education loans. George Nolfi, a PhD student at the University of California, Los Angeles, sold Pathfinder to Paramount Pictures for US$550,000 (HK$4.25 million) after a bidding war with Universal, who wanted to make it starring Sylvester Stallone. If the film makes it to the big screen, Nolfi will receive a further US$200,000. The plot involves an American spy and a cache of plutonium. If the two stars sign up, it will be their first film together.
