US President Bill Clinton makes his first State of the Union Address today, and is expected to break his first election promise in the process. Instead of cutting taxes for the middle classes, he's having to concede that he must raise them.
On the plus side - for America, if not Asia - he also intends to outline plans to boost the country's economy and create half a million jobs within two years.
The address is being broadcast live on both the ATV World channel and RTHK Radio 3 from 10am.
DEBRA Winger (The Sheltering Sky) has a reputation for being difficult to work with. Her antics on the set of A League of Their Own last year reportedly prompted an exasperated Penny Marshall to replace her with Geena Davis.
Sparks flew, too, in 1986 during the filming of Legal Eagles (World 9.30pm, original running time 116 mins) because of Winger's dissatisfaction with the script, director Ivan Reitman and co-star Robert Redford.
As a result, she appears to give up halfway through the film, a self-destructive move which merely allows the ol' Redford charisma to shine more brightly.
