Deanna Sorensen, 30, is the president of the Hong Kong Mind Gym, a non-profit organisation which aims to develop the mind and make people more creative.
Founded by creativity consultant Jennifer Crossland, the gym has about 100 members who meet on the last Tuesday of every month to discuss and debate issues and perspectives relating to mind development.
By day, Ms Sorensen is a professional development consultant who teaches business communications. She came to Hong Kong four years ago from Canada and lives in Kennedy Town.
What's on your mind? Our slogan is 'Grow your mind'. Our goal is to develop a healthy mind in a healthy body.
Hong Kong is such a fast-paced, high-stressed society. What we try to do is to provide a relaxed atmosphere for people to get away from business, where they can 'de-stress' and grow their minds.
Some of us are inspired by Tony Buzan's The Book of Genius, in which he identifies different qualities of genius. Geniuses are not born. We all have the potential, the qualities of athletes - flexibility, strength and endurance - we want to transfer to the mind.
