Dr Sex hotline a big attraction for under-10s

Nearly one in five callers flooding the Dr Sex Hotline are 10 or under.

The automatic agony aunt has been inundated with calls from the sexually confused, with 202,342 dialling for help over the past seven months.

This was 90 per cent more than expected, Hong Kong Sex Association president Li Man-chiu said yesterday.

Queries about physiological, psychological and behavioural aspects of sex were most common - 44.7 per cent.

'They really want to know about sexual acts and behaviour - what sex is - because they can't get the information from school,' Mr Li said. 'We've been surprised at the number of calls.' The majority of callers were aged 11-20 (47.8 per cent) although there was the odd call from those in their 90s.

More than 60 per cent of callers were male.
