One punch has cost a construction worker $2.5 million. Master carpenter Tsang Yik-on, 44, won the payout from a colleague who hit him in the face during a squabble over a plank. Mr Tsang was working on the Pacific Place Phase 2 construction site in August 1990. He was carrying a plank which brushed Kat Ching's back. An enraged Mr Kat swung around and 'hit Tsang in the face, causing him head injuries', barrister Katina Levy, for Mr Tsang, told the High Court. Mr Tsang claims he still suffers frequent bouts of dizziness and nausea. He was forced to leave his $12,600-a-month job and he now made $2,500 working for his brother. Mr Justice Peter Cheung Chak-yau ordered Mr Kat to pay Mr Tsang $2.5 million in damages.
