CITY Patrol has been noted in this column twice before and yesterday he scrambled home late for second in the race won by Gold Yue Yee, looking as if there is still more improvement to come. Local jockey Danny Lee was in double form as his season starts to take a turn for the better and in City Patrol he has a future winner waiting in the wings. A paddock inspection showed that City Patrol was still not fully wound up. He's a big horse anyway and it is taking a number of runs to get him to peak racing condition. Yesterday's strong finishing second under Lee should see him trim down and go even closer next time. Beas Glory had no luck in the last when shuffled back in scrimmaging approaching the first bend. He lost more ground than he was beaten by, and he can win again before the season is over. There was a good run from Palette Star in the sixth event won by Charity First. Palette Star battled on well for fourth, despite circling the field on his first run back from a spell and he's well suited by Class Four and a staying trip.
