WINNING TOUCH should be very hard to beat in the seventh event at Taipa today. The Peter Leyshan-trained five-year-old is so superior to the rest of his Class One rivals that there are only two others racing from their correct weight in this 1,400-metre contest. Despite Winning Touch's having to shoulder an onerous 145 pounds then, he's actually well treated. The danger is likely to come from the Gordon Benson-trained Macau Venture, who should be suited by the rain-affected track. Last-start winners Hegemony and Hay Wick are others who should go well on the ground, which is likely to be soft, and where there are not too many chances. Leyshan and stable jockey Gary Moore should also be on the mark with their main Derby contender, Ocean Grove, in the eighth event. Ocean Grove ran on well to be third to Be A Good Horse in the Derby Trial, has improved markedly in his work since, and looks to have this Class Three, 1,800-metre event at his mercy. Alexander's Choice is one of the most exciting youngsters in training at Taipa. He can make it four out of four by lifting the third event.
