It will be a case of speak up tomorrow and Thursday at the 'Joint School Oral English Practice' - for the sake of improving students' spoken English. The get-together, the first of its kind, will be at St Francis Xavier's School, Tsuen Wan. Other sessions will be on May 24 and 25 and serve as a mock oral English exam for Form Five students. The major objective is to provide opportunities for Form Five students to practise spoken English with their counterparts from different schools in Tsuen Wan, Kwai Chung and Tsing Yi. In this week's session, there will be a series of events in the form of games, debates and mock exam, which will motivate the participants to exchange and share their learning experiences. The mock exam, which is a simulation of the real exam in the HKCEE, will give the participants a practice run in exam procedures. In the May session it will be solely mock exams with the real exam around the corner. All participants will be given a pamphlet which contains techniques and hints for the oral exam as well as daily spoken English. Detailed descriptions of the exam, its format and procedures and advice from experienced teachers and senior students are included.
