The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (APA) is presenting a series of four concerts at Government House. These concerts are the last to be held under the patronage of Governor Chris Patten. The final concert of the series will take place on April 10 at 6.30 pm in the Ballroom of Government House, Upper Albert Road. The Music School of the academy is dedicated to providing systematic music training to students who aspire to be professional players of Western and Chinese instruments as well as singers and teachers of music. By drawing the young talents of the school together in the concerts, the APA aims to treat the audience to a popular programme of instrumental and vocal music, both in the Chinese and Western traditions. Tickets at $75 (adults), $65 (Society of the APA members) and $45 (full-time students, senior citizens over 60 and the disabled) are available at Urbtix outlets. Call 2734 9009 for reservations.
