Air power - Military aircraft go on display at the China Aviation Industry Show which opens at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre today.

The week-long show features Chinese helicopters, the latest guided missiles and jets, including two recent models of the F7 and F8 fighters which will accompany the People's Liberation Army garrison to Hong Kong after July 1.

Show organiser Sun Guangyun said the exhibition would 'show China has come a long way and its aviation industry and economy in general compare favourably with the most advanced countries overseas'. The show also features a pictorial history of aviation in China.
