WONG Tang-ping stepped his training operation up a gear when putting a series of solid barrier trials into a number of his team during the three heats on the equitrack at Sha Tin yesterday. The season has been a quiet one to date for Ping who has sent out just six winners despite a number of his team showing great promise. But then he has yet to really get into them at trackwork and has been very patient with his younger horses, keeping some of them to distances which appear below their optimum as he waits for them to find the strength to run out a trip.
