A girl is suing her PE teacher after being hit in the face by a discus during a lesson. Venus Park, 17, a student at the French International School, Jardine's Lookout, claims the class was left unattended while practising the sport. A Supreme Court writ says she suffered a broken nose and chipped teeth when hit by a discus hurled by another pupil. The girl, who was 15 at the time, fainted and was left bleeding from the nose and mouth. She spent the night in hospital and has been left with a scar on her nose. Her teacher, Philippe Guillo, and the school are named as defendants in the writ, which was filed by her father, Park Tae Gyu. The teacher is accused of instructing the pupils to practise throwing the discus in a dangerous manner by telling them to line up facing each other. Mr Guillo is also alleged to have been negligent in leaving the class unattended.
