AIDS test exemption
HONGKONG travellers producing documents from public or approved private hospitals showing they are HIV negative will be exempt from AIDS tests at the border. Chinese public health officials in Beijing told a Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hongkong (DAB) delegation those testing positive for the virus would not necessarily be barred from entering the country. But they would have to undergo another three blood tests to verify the original result. The delegation requested that individually packed, disposable syringes be used for the test and be disposed of immediately.
