MORE than 5,000 nurses have signed a petition calling on Governor Mr Chris Patten to set up an inter-departmental group to deal with the shortage of nurses in the territory. The chairman of the Association of Hongkong Nursing Staff, Mr Michael Ho said there was a shortfall of more than 3,000 in the profession.
