A teenager pretended to be a senior police inspector to con a shop into giving him $200,000 worth of computer equipment, the District Court was told. Jeoffrey Chan, 17, denied pretending to be an officer, obtaining property by deception, and having and using a false instrument. Judge David Gill adjourned the case. Trial is set for July.
