High-class three-year-old Cool Choice - owned by Hong Kong legal identity P. S. Woo - is already being aimed at the rich Hong Kong International Bowl (1,400 metres) at Sha Tin in December.
After only two outings in his autumn campaign Cool Choice has been put aside. When he returns to training the gelding's preparation will be directed at the Sha Tin event.
'Mr Woo has instructed me to train Cool Choice specifically for the International Bowl and that's what I will be doing,' says Flemington trainer John Meagher, who is a frequent visitor to Hong Kong.
'He has already shown he has loads of ability. Besides he will be bigger and stronger when he comes back into work and really, he is an ideal type of horse for the race.
'So, everything we do with him over the next seven months will be with the objective of gaining selection by The Hong Kong Jockey Club for the International Bowl.' Cool Choice, who is by the successful Victorian-based sire Clear Choice, has so far raced on 10 occasions for four wins and a third for earnings of A$152,600.
He was most impressive in winning the Listed Mercedes-Benz (1,400 metres) at Caulfield and then the Listed Carbine Club Stakes (1,600 metres) - a most prestigious race - at Flemington in the spring.
