Ferry pact to start

Swedish shipper Stena Line says its partnership with P&O on English Channel ferry routes is due to begin in July.

The move has been prompted by fierce competition from the Channel Tunnel, which has taken about half the cross-channel passenger and vehicle trade.

Stena says it expects the British authorities will give their approval to the partnership soon.
